Find Your Fit – HEC

With seven locations across the country, Heavy Equipment Colleges of America is a private education and training school that specializes in training entry-level heavy equipment and crane operators. HEC was founded in 2006 and is proud to offer a wide range of training programs focused around equipment such as wheel loader, backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, mobile crane and lattice boom crawler crane. Each of our locations is devoted to carefully training students in heavy equipment and crane operation. Throughout your chosen program, students will be able to gain experience and new skills that can be put to use upon getting certified. Our programs will provide you with knowledge in areas like safety operations, equipment maintenance, site management, excavation and much more.

The different programs offered at our locations include:

  • Certificate of Heavy Equipment Operations – Level I
  • Certificate of Heavy Equipment Operations – Level II
  • Certificate of Heavy Equipment Operations – Mobile Crane
  • Certificate of Heavy Equipment Operations – Lattice Boom Crawler Crane

Through these various programs, students are able to find the right fit for them. Upon graduation, students are eligible and qualified to find a variety of jobs in many different industries, including equipment operation, crane operation, site preparation, commercial and residential construction and more. In as little as 3 weeks, you could finish your chosen program and become a licensed heavy equipment operator.

Our programs are designed to help you become an effective and safe worker. With our help, you will also learn to evaluate soil conditions, read blueprints and apply general math concepts to calculate weight and volume.   • Utility and Underground Excavation

In addition to oil, gas, railroad, waste disposal and recycling, and construction, graduates from our heavy equipment training schools are eligible for a variety of jobs in many industries, including equipment operation, crane operation, site preparation and management, excavation, utilities and underground, trenching, road construction, airport construction, and commercial and residential construction.

OKLAHOMA LOCATION ONLY: Heavy Equipment Colleges of America has a Certificate of Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The school’s programs are approved by TWC. Students must address their concerns about this school of any of its educational programs by following the grievance process outlined in the school’s catalog. Students dissatisfied with the school’s response to their complaint or who are not able to file a complaint with the school, can file a formal complaint with TWC, as well as with other relevant agencies or accreditors, if applicable. Information on filing a complaint with TWC can be found on TWC’s website at www.texasworkforce.org/careerschoolstudents.

Heavy Equipment Colleges of America endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and provides training to prepare candidates for CCO examinations.

*The Army’s Career Skills Program (CSP) prepares Soldiers for civilian employment through first-class apprenticeships, on-the-job training, job shadowing, internships and employment skills training. Soldiers are eligible to participate in an Army CSP up to 180 days prior to separation from the Army and after completion of the mandatory 5-day SFL-TAP workshop. To be considered for an open seat in a CSP you must contact the POC at the installation where you want to attend a CSP and submit your commander authorized/signed participation memo in advance of the start date.

WIOA/TAA funded training may be provided only to individuals who qualify for the program and not only if funds are available.
