Programs Offered at HEC

One of the first benefits at HEC that you will notice is our variety of training programs available in locations close to home. We take pride in giving our students plenty of options so they can create opportunities for themselves. In our programs, you can learn to evaluate solid conditions, read blueprints, and calculate weight and volume to name a few. With eight school locations across the country, you have the option to get started with HEC programs without benign too far from home. Military Benefits

Military veterans can benefit from training programs offered at HEC. We’re a Veterans Affairs-approved school, and two of our six locations are specifically for military veterans only. Learn how you can develop skills that’ll help you make the transition to civilian life successful.

Admissions Process

When you’re ready to begin an exciting new career in the heavy equipment industry, your first step is starting and submitting an application. After submitting your application, you’ll need to provide proof that you graduated high school or possess a GED certificate. Finally, you’ll need to meet our physical and mental requirements to ensure you can operate all equipment safely. Once these three requirements are met, you’re on your way to developing the skills that’ll give you a professional edge.

At HEC, we don’t just train you for a job, we offer you resources that’ll help you jumpstart a career as a heavy equipment operator. Our resume-building service can help you craft a resume that’ll impress potential employers. We also offer mock interviews for applicants that want to sharpen their interviewing skills. OKLAHOMA LOCATION ONLY: Heavy Equipment Colleges of America has a Certificate of Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The school’s programs are approved by TWC. Students must address their concerns about this school of any of its educational programs by following the grievance process outlined in the school’s catalog. Students dissatisfied with the school’s response to their complaint or who are not able to file a complaint with the school, can file a formal complaint with TWC, as well as with other relevant agencies or accreditors, if applicable. Information on filing a complaint with TWC can be found on TWC’s website at www.texasworkforce.org/careerschoolstudents.

Heavy Equipment Colleges of America endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and provides training to prepare candidates for CCO examinations.

*SkillBridge prepares service members for civilian employment through first-class apprenticeships, on-the-job training, job shadowing, internships and employment skills training. Service members are eligible to participate in a SkillBridge up to 180 days prior to separation. To be considered for an open seat in a SkillBridge you must contact the POC at the installation where you want to attend a SkillBridge and submit your commander authorized/signed participation memo in advance of the start date.

WIOA/TAA funded training may be provided only to individuals who qualify for the program and not only if funds are available.
